If you have a chance, I (3) _______________ recommend that you go down to Nathan Phillips Square one evening in December to see the lights and the beautifully-decorated tree and to practice your ice skating skills. Toronto has many parks where you can do this, but one of the best places to go is probably High Park in the western part of Toronto . You can buy cheap toboggans from many stores in Canada , and going to the park is always free, so this is an (6) _______________ way to have fun in the winter.
One final thing you might enjoy doing during the cold weather, although this is in early spring rather than winter, is visiting a maple sugar shack to find out "how maple syrup is made". Maple syrup is one of the most famous Canadian (7) _______________ ? and a great gift for your friends and family back home ? so visiting a sugar shack and learning how the raw tree sap is turned into delicious syrup is a great experience.
